Christian Texts and History • Re: What if the original titulus crucis was "Christ"?

1 Corinthians 1:23 is found in the Apostolikon:

But we proclaim Christ having been crucified, to the Jews an offense, to the Gentiles foolishness,

Hence, given the premises:
  • A) the first gospel story had 'Christ' in the same titulus crucis, meaning that Pilate knew what he was doing (i.e. to crucify Jesus as the Christ)
  • B) the first gospel story introduced the first time the idea that Jesus was the Christ;
...then the conclusion is unavoidable:
  • C) the "Paul"'s epistles betray knowledge of the first gospel story.
