Obviously, Josephus didn't write about Jesus. Origen practically tells us so, for Origen had no trouble referring to Josephus on John the Baptist, despite seeing Josephus as a hostile witness. There was nothing barring him from citing Josephus, yet couldn't quote the TF on Jesus which is in the same book that John was in! This intimates that Origen didn't know that Josephus ever said anything about Jesus.
(I'm sure here we can rehearse the fact that Origen makes a statement that sort-of, kind-of vaguely resembles a contorted bit of AJ 20.200 that even Eusebius doesn't recognize as based on AJ 20.200, for Eusebius cites separately both Origen's effort from CC 1.47 (as Josephan) and AJ 20.200.)
Then we get to the circuitous belief statement: "Josephus quite likely knew about Jesus and mentioned him". No rationale for that likelihood, just a previous quizzical list of quaint excuses.
