Under the *Ev's priority, a gospel is a mere exercise in divine ventriloquism:

• 1. I adore a god.

• 2. I want that the god says what I like.

• 3. Therefore I invent a story where the god says what I like.

• That story is a "gospel".

But under the Markan priority? Bob Price says that the gospel is a back-story able "to explain" the myth:

• 1. I adore a god.

• 2. I have forgotten what means the baptism of the brothers, the descent, the crucifixion by rulers, the ascent.

• 3. Therefore I invent a story where I explain these things to myself in primis, and to others in secundis.

• That story is a "gospel".
