Jewish Texts and History • Re: Jewish Version of "The Twelve Days of Christmas"

The song posted by SA seems similar to a ditty my dad taught us to sing for one of his famous new years eve parties for his bosses and friends from work, sung with tume of 12 days of christmas, but the words for the gifts were changed to impulse purchased foods.

I forget now the substitutes for the 12th to the 6th, but it went something like this up to five:

On the first day of Christmas, my true love gave to me, a pizza with peperoni.
On the second day of Christmas, my true love gave to me, two malted milks,
and a pizza with peperoni.
On the third day of Christmas, my true love gave to me, three french fries,
two malted milks, and a pizza with peperoni.
On the fourth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me, four chicken baskets,
three french fries, two malted milks and a pizza with peperoni.
On the fifth day of Christmas my true love gave to me, five onion rings,
four chicken baskets, three french fries, two malted milks and a pizza with peperoni.

Etc.

Was not aware of the Jewish version SA mentioned. 12 days (original version) and SA's Jewish version sound like "campfire" songs. Campfire at Christmas? Think Yule log. Maybe better to think of singing around the piano during a family gathering. I remember visiting a Jewish synagogue while a youth group was getting ready for a summer camp-out and they were singing such songs as they boarded the charter bus.
