my point is that if the assumption is that Jesus is a composite, then even in that case two figures emerge more in view than others (I have specified who they are).Ultimately you just get back to a Jewish guy named Jesus/Joshua who caused some trouble, and afterwards his followers believed various things about him and started a movement in his name. You're just 80% of the way to the historical consensus at that point.
Your remark amounts to say that Pilate is not fiction in the gospel. But then I remember that Pilate is there because the Samaritan Impostor was punished by Pilate. I don't know why the Samaritan Impostor mattered and yet I think that he mattered someway in order to explain why "Pilate" was mentioned.
