Christian Texts and History • Difference between "Christ Jesus" and "Jesus Christ"

"Christ Jesus" means that 'Jesus' is only the temporary name given to a pre-existent being.

"Jesus Christ" means that 'Jesus' is the Jewish 'Christ', i.e. the usual denomination of checked origin in order to reassure that Jesus is adopted by YHWH as his son therefore the former is subordinated to the latter.

The presence of both the expressions in the epistles (even in the marcionite version) means that the process of conciliation started even before that Marcion published the Apostolikon. There was never "pure" marcionism since Marcion himself searched for some form of compromise with the Judaizers.
