Christian Texts and History • Re: Toward the End of the Conspiracy Theory Regarding the Origins of the Letter to Theodore

Tselikas, who has an office at the Patriarchate and knows the Mar Saba library intimately has said both publicly and privately that this is ridiculous and only could be said by someone who had never been there and didn't know how the monastic libraries worked. Complete nonsense. These are just statements made from ignorance. I can cite you the pages where he says this. But he's told it to me personally on several occasions. As a result Tselikas says there must have been a confederate.

So after I demonstrate that the offensive "naked with naked" passage has nothing to do with homosexuality, the octogenarian sticks by his guns and says "so what I like the conspiracy theory better." Why do you like the conspiracy theory better than reality? "naked with naked" doesn't mean homosexual relations. I've shown it. Nuts. Let me show it to you again:
What? So Basil and Gregory were gay too? Here's the passage from the sixth century Greek author who interpreted Gregory's as pertaining to man and God:
I also believe that by his intercession more than his previous teaching,307 and so much the more since he draws near to God, having shaken off his bodily bonds and having released his mind from turbid mud, he is naked, [conversing]308 with the unincarnate Godhead),309 the foremost and purest mind, [and] is deemed worthy, if it is not bold to speak of this, of the rank and free access [to God]310 of angels.
Here's the author making reference to "naked" and God in other writers from the Jerusalem patriarchate:
Γυμνὸς is a usual term for the unincarnate Godhead; cf. Gregory of Antioch, De baptismo Christi, 2.6, PG
What is wrong with you? It's over. There is no reason to persist in the other nonsense. There no "gay" thing with "naked and naked." Maybe you have a gay thing you're projecting on to Morton Smith.
