The idea that, by the crucifixion, Jesus derives all people to himself, in an ascensional movement from heart to heaven, is found also in Hebrews 13:13:
Since the crucifixion is a celestial crucifixion, the idea makes a lot of sense: that the earthly creatures, the Christians, have to ascend to heaven by joining the same cross of Jesus: in heaven.

...but there is even more in this passage, since the "lifting up" assumes a colossal height, unexpected for a banal Roman cross.
The idea that, by the crucifixion, Jesus derives all people to himself, in an ascensional movement from heart to heaven, is found also in Hebrews 13:13:
And so Jesus also suffered outside the city gate [= in heaven] to make the people holy through his own blood. 13 Let us, then, go to him outside the camp [= in heaven] , bearing the disgrace he bore.
Since the crucifixion is a celestial crucifixion, the idea makes a lot of sense: that the earthly creatures, the Christians, have to ascend to heaven by joining the same cross of Jesus: in heaven.
