Christian Texts and History • Re: How Do People Believe They Are Infallible in Their Knowledge of Early Christianity?

People mistake "studying for a test" with actual knowledge. An MBA student may get a perfect score on how to run a business but someone who has run a business might not have the latest "know how" but experience also counts for something. The humanities is like an MBA without any real practical application other than positing things which "can't work." Josephus didn't say this. Origen didn't mean that. Stuff like that. By sticking to what is "safe" someone can act essentially like a government worker, never rock the boat but never have practical experience running an actual business.
