Hey, guess what I just came across. There's this inscription getting a little attention for allegedly - supposed to be the first ancient north Arabian attestation of biblical Midian. Above the text there are some images, one looks kinda like a simple menorah variant, one kinda looks like a wild djed variant. No reason to think they are connected, but a fun coincidence. Looking at them gives substance to the question "What level of variation from an imagined source is too much? How much similarity is required for a correspondence at this or any distance?"
