when i checked the gnostic texts they don't mention Simon or quote him and the couple of maybe's are all negative toward him if they even are him
thus, if Marcion follows suit i think the answer is it wasn't important who killed him and they didn't think about it. it would irritate them, probably they'd snap 'it was the Romans' and start talking about the pleroma again, and conjugations of the aeons, what mattered to them was this stuff
