Was the Frenchman who found the Rosetta Stone a good person, pure heart, clean hands? I don't know. Were the British who took it away from the French--and away from the Egyptians!--otherwise, nice chaps? Beats me. Consider the stone itself.
The Caesarea Maritima stone passed peer review. Vardaman-proposed micro letters did not.
Is there a valid reason to dismiss the multiply-attested relocation of 24 priestly courses? Is there archaeologically or linguistically, or in the material of the stone and its carving, reason to exclude it from evidence? Since the three pieces don't abut, was asking if they were from one slab or possibly, though less likely, more than one similarly-produced one, suspicious? Consider the stone itself. If able.
