For these people, Jesus was previously someone else and has now become a stranger.
without offence but I would like to remember that you are writing this in a thread started by a *Ev prioritist in relation to Mark.

In *Ev the "someone else" was going to tempt Jesus by inventing the presence "there out" of carnal relatives contra factum that there was there none.

My point in this thread is that despite of the its posteriority compared to *Ev, "Mark" is preserving older material connecting without shadow of doubt Jesus with YHWH. The episode of Jesus walking on the waters (found also in *Ev, but without "I am") is conclusive in such sense: Winn uses 8 pages (!!!) of commentary only for the list of details in this episode making his case that Jesus == YHWH.
